10″ of rain kind of put a damper on things because the section of driveway closest to the house hasn’t been graveled yet, and the wet clay made deliveries impossible. But things have dried out and a flurry of activity is now taking place. The shaker style cabinets have been installed, and will be painted an off white. This off white will go along with our farm house theme. Trim work is almost complete. It is beyond exciting for us because we are starting to see all the storage potential coming together in the kitchen, bathrooms, utility, closets and pantry, which we will definitely be putting to good use! The driveway is also being worked on in hopes any further rain won’t effect progress. Some additional driveway work will occur after final grade and concrete work will be completed around the house.

Driveway construction begins with the first load of gravel being dropped off and spread. The large concrete object sitting there is the 14′ cattle guard going in by the house.
Larger rock was eventually brought in to this particular spot because of it staying consistently wet from the recent rains. This smaller gravel would have just sank into the spongy clay.
